DERA ISMAIL KHAN (Correspondent) Gomal University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Nematullah Babar, has announced a comprehensive strategy to ensure financial stability, austerity, and administrative reforms within the institution. He made these declarations during a press conference alongside Registrar Imranullah Khan and Controller of Examinations Muhammad Talha.
Addressing the media, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized that while the timely payment of salaries is a fundamental right of the employees, the university will strictly enforce a “No Work, No Salary” policy. He explicitly stated that only those employees who fulfill their official and academic responsibilities regularly will be eligible to receive their salaries.
Austerity Measures and Institutional Reforms
To alleviate the financial burden on the institution, the Vice-Chancellor highlighted several key initiatives:
- Government Vehicles Recalled: In alignment with the provincial government’s austerity policy, all official university vehicles have been recalled from officials and moved into the central transport pool.
- Ban on Illegal Recruitment: The VC reiterated his commitment that no illegal or unauthorized appointments will be permitted under his administration, ensuring no additional financial strain is placed on the university’s resources.
Gratitude to the Provincial Government
Professor Dr. Nematullah Babar extended his special gratitude to Meena Khan Afridi, the Provincial Minister for Higher Education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He noted that the minister provided immense support in approving a substantial grant of 2.5 billion rupees for Gomal University, which will significantly aid the institution in achieving financial viability and stability.
