Lahore(our correspondent)The Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA) has officially released the Class 8 (Grade 8) Assessment 2026 results today, April 9, 2026. This year’s assessment is particularly significant as it marks the restoration of the board-level examination system in Punjab after a five-year hiatus.

- Total Students: Nearly 1 million candidates appeared.
- Overall Pass Rate: 88%
- Performance Gap: Girls outperformed boys with a 92% pass rate compared to 83% for boys.
- Technology First: This was the province’s first 100% machine-marked assessment using AI-enabled systems.
How to Check Your Result
You can access your scores through the following official methods:
- Online Portal (Fastest):
- Visit the official website: pectaa.edu.pk.
- Enter your Roll Number in the designated search box.
- Via SMS (No Internet Required):
- Type your Roll Number in a new message.
- Send it to 800222.
- You will receive your total marks via reply.
- Gazette PDF:
- Download the official result gazette from the PECTAA website to see district-wise and school-wise lists.
Important Note for Students
- Passing Marks: You must have at least 33% in each of the core subjects (Urdu, English, Mathematics, and Social Studies).
- Result Cards: Official result cards will be issued through respective schools in the coming days.
- Admissions: These results are mandatory for admission into the 9th Class (Matriculation).
