Prime Minister Moazzam Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed the establishment of a Tech Campus of Daanish University in Muzaffarabad, stating that the construction of Daanish schools across the country and a Daanish University in Islamabad represents the best investment for the brilliant future of the nation.
He issued these directives while chairing a high-level review meeting regarding the establishment of Daanish schools and Daanish University in Islamabad. The meeting was attended by Federal Ministers Azam Nazeer Tarar, Ahsan Iqbal, Attaullah Tarar, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and senior officials from the relevant institutions.
A Vital National Asset Blended with Regional Culture
According to the official communique issued from Islamabad, the Prime Minister emphasized that Daanish schools and Daanish University are vital national assets. He instructed that the under-construction Daanish school projects across all four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) must be completed as soon as possible. The Prime Minister specially emphasized that the architectural design of these schools must fully harmonize with local and regional cultures, while the recruitment of teaching and other staff must be conducted purely on merit.
Detailed Briefing on the Construction of 27 Daanish Schools
During the meeting, the Prime Minister was given a detailed briefing on the construction progress of Daanish University in Islamabad and a total of 27 Daanish schools across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir.
The key points of the briefing include:
- Projects Nearing Completion: Construction work on Daanish schools in Bagh, Bhimber, Sultanabad, Ganche, and Astore is in its final stages and is nearing completion.
- Commencement of Academic Year: Regular academic activities and teaching processes in all these schools will officially commence in April 2027.
- Daanish University Classes: Classes at the newly established Daanish University in Islamabad will also start in the year 2027, and the recruitment process for the faculty members has already been initiated.
- Priority for Underdeveloped Areas: Talented students belonging to far-flung and marginalized areas across the country will be granted admission to Daanish schools strictly on a merit basis.
The Prime Minister concluded by ordering the relevant authorities to closely monitor all ongoing projects and functionalize them with high-quality standards within the stipulated time frame.
