Major Scandal Uncovered: Mirpurkhas Education Board Issued Fake Matric Certificates to Afghan Nationals

MIRPURKHAS (Special Correspondent) – A massive corruption scandal has surfaced at the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Mirpurkhas, where thousands of fake Matriculation certificates were allegedly issued to Afghan nationals.

According to police and Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) officials, these fraudulent certificates were used by Afghan citizens to illegally obtain Pakistani domiciles and National Identity Cards (CNICs).

Key Revelations from the Investigation:

  • The Bribery Scale: Accused officials reportedly charged anywhere between Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 500,000 per certificate.
  • Modus Operandi: The suspects confessed to taking Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 100,000 for increasing marks, Rs. 50,000 for changing “Fail” status to “Pass,” and up to Rs. 500,000 for a completely forged Matric certificate.
  • Arrests Made: Police have arrested two key suspects, including Azam Khan, the Incharge of the Board’s Secret Branch.
  • Confession: During a media presentation, Azam Khan admitted to the crimes, naming Controller of Examinations Anwar Aleem as the central figure who managed the financial transactions.
  • Institutional Involvement: Two government and two private schools have been identified as accomplices that provided fake verification letters to facilitate the issuance of these “authentic-looking” certificates.

Current Status: The Anti-Corruption Department has seized the Board’s records and launched a comprehensive inquiry. Authorities are now working to track down all certificates issued through this network to cancel the illegally obtained identity documents.
