DOHA (Monitoring Desk) – The Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar has announced a phased return to in-person learning, moving away from distance education and restoring full classroom activities for all students.
According to the official notification, a gradual transition to in-person classes in schools and kindergartens will begin on March 24, 2026. This will lead to the complete restoration of educational activities with 100% mandatory attendance starting from March 29, 2026.
Key Implementation Details:
- Transition Period: During the initial phase (March 24–28), schools will operate under temporary schedules to facilitate a smooth return for students.
- Higher Education: Higher education institutions and training centers have already been instructed to revert to in-person learning models according to their previously approved academic plans.
- Objective: The Ministry emphasized that this decision aims to maintain academic continuity and provide students with superior learning opportunities within a physical classroom environment.
This move marks the end of hybrid and remote learning models in the Gulf state, signaling a full return to traditional educational norms.
