Summer vacations have officially commenced today, July 1, across all public and private educational institutions in the plains and upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to a notification issued by the Department of Education, the duration of the holidays has been customized for different regions in accordance with local weather conditions.
Distinct Schedules for Plains and Upper Districts
According to the schedule released by the Department of Education:
- Plain Areas: In the plain regions of the province, summer vacations will commence on July 1 and continue until August 31.
- Upper Districts: In the colder and mountainous upper districts, educational institutions will remain closed from July 1 to July 31, with academic activities resuming there on August 1.
Separate Directives for Primary, Middle, and High Schools
The notification further clarifies that in the plain areas, holidays for primary schools will remain in place until August 31. Conversely, middle, high, and higher secondary schools in these areas will observe summer vacations until August 15.
According to the Department of Education, following the conclusion of the vacations across all districts, regular academic activities will fully resume from September 1.
