KP Matric Exams in Turmoil، Papers of 5 Education Boards Leaked in a Single Day

PESHAWAR(our correspondent) The ongoing Matriculation examinations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been marred by controversy as question papers from five major educational boards were leaked across the province today. The incident sparked widespread outrage, leading to violent protests and vandalism at several examination centers.

Details of the Crisis:

Despite claims of stringent security measures by the Education Department and respective boards, the examination process collapsed as papers for Peshawar, Mardan, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, and Malakand boards began circulating on social media before the scheduled time.

  • Timing of the Breach: According to reports, the question papers were shared in various WhatsApp groups as early as 9:30 AM, long before the conclusion of the exams.
  • Administrative Failure: The repeated occurrence of paper leaks has raised serious questions regarding the management, transparency, and integrity of the Peshawar and other regional boards.

Protests and Vandalism:

Following the news of the leak and reports of mismanagement, students at various centers reached a breaking point. Angry protesters engaged in heavy rioting and damaged public property:

  • Vehicle Damage: Protesting students smashed the windows of vehicles belonging to the examination staff.
  • Arson Incidents: Several motorcycles were set on fire during the chaotic demonstrations.

Call for Action:

Given the gravity of the situation, parents and civil society members have urged the provincial government to launch an immediate high-level inquiry. They have demanded strict legal action against the examination staff and officials responsible for this systemic failure.
