PESHAWAR (News Reporter) In a major move to upgrade the quality of education and align teaching skills with modern standards, the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has made “Teaching Licenses” mandatory for all government school teachers. Under the new legislation, obtaining a license is now a prerequisite for teaching in public schools across the province.
Licensing and Categorization Framework: According to sources, the new policy divides teachers into five distinct categories based on their level of appointment, ranging from Primary and Middle to High and Higher Secondary levels. To secure a license, teachers must successfully clear the following evaluation stages:
- Written Examinations: Assessments will be conducted at various stages to test the depth of subject knowledge.
- Interviews: Formal interviews will be held to evaluate professional conduct and communication skills.
- Classroom Monitoring: A detailed evaluation of teaching standards and classroom management techniques will be performed.
Objectives of the Initiative: The provincial government stated that the primary goal of this reform is to ensure that only those who meet high pedagogical standards remain in the classroom. This legislation is expected to enhance overall teacher performance and provide a significantly improved learning environment for students.
