Professor Dr. Shazia Qureshi, a prominent legal expert and renowned academician of the country, has been appointed as the permanent Dean of the School of Law and Policy at the University of Management and Technology (UMT). She has formally taken charge of her office and assumed her new responsibilities. The top management, faculty members, and students of UMT have warmly welcomed her arrival, terms it a highly auspicious development for the institution.
Professor Dr. Shazia Qureshi possesses a long and distinguished experience spanning over 35 years in the fields of legal education, research, and academic administration. Prior to joining UMT in this highly critical role, she served in various key academic and administrative positions at the Punjab University, Lahore, where she rendered her services for a long period. She has also excellently performed the honorable duties of Professor, Dean, and Principal at the historic University Law College, Lahore.
Outstanding Academic Background and Accolades
Dr. Shazia Qureshi’s academic career is adorned with prestigious international honors. She obtained her PhD degree in Law and Human Rights from the renowned Lancaster University in the United Kingdom. Furthermore, she completed her LLM from the world-class Cambridge University, where she was also awarded the prestigious ‘British Council Commonwealth Scholarship’ on the basis of academic excellence. Her stellar academic journey commenced at the Punjab University, where she clinched a Gold Medal by securing a top position in the subject of Mercantile Law during her LLB.
