Dera Ismail Khan (Express Correspondent): The District Education Officer (Female) Dera Ismail Khan has canceled the appointments of 35 employees involved in alleged fake appointments, fictitious employment, and illegal drawal of salaries from the national exchequer. Orders have also been issued to recover all drawn salaries and deposit them back into the government treasury.
According to the notification, a departmental inquiry raised questions regarding the legal validity of the appointments, service records, place of postings, and salary disbursements of certain employees. Essential credentials, service records, and appointment orders for some individuals were unavailable in the relevant office, yet their names appeared on the official government payroll and salaries were being drawn.
Some individuals had allegedly secured government employment and drawn salaries using forged appointment letters without taking part in or qualifying on merit in the ETEA tests conducted on April 23 and 24, 2022, for Union Council-based PST (BPS-12) posts. Show-cause notices were published in newspapers during the initial proceedings to give the concerned individuals a chance to present their defense, which they failed to do. Consequently, District Education Officer (Female) Syeda Anjum, acting as the competent authority, revoked their appointment orders and declared them null and void ab initio.
