Retired Teachers Decided to Protest for Pensioners’ Rights and End to Discrimination

HYDERABAD (UrduTaleem Correspondent): An important meeting of the Government Retired Teachers Association (GRETA) Hyderabad City was held under the chairmanship of Mubarak Ali Abbasi. During the meeting, a strategy was formulated to implement the district-level protest in Hyderabad as part of the Sindh-wide campaign launched by the central association to intensify the struggle for the rights of pensioners and government employees. Key consultations took place regarding outreach to current pensioners and employees retiring in the near future to ensure the success of the protest.

During the meeting, a strong demand was made to the Government of Sindh to cease discriminatory treatment toward pensioners and government employees. The association urged the immediate provision of group insurance, benevolent fund benefits, and inflation-indexed pension increases for both living and deceased retired personnel. Furthermore, it was decided to convene a major protest rally on October 25 at Government Boys High School near Gol Building, Hyderabad City. The meeting was attended by Syed Arif Shah, Abdul Rehman Chandragir, Syed Akhtar Hussain, Prof. Abdul Rahim Gaddi, and others.
