Multan: Decision to Merge Underperforming Departments at BZU; Academic Council Grants Approval

MULTAN (News Reporter): Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) has decided to merge its inactive and underperforming academic departments, a move officially approved by the university’s Academic Council. The approval was granted during a high-level Academic Council meeting chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zubair Iqbal, where key decisions were made regarding academic quality, environmental initiatives, new degree programs, and financial stability.

During the meeting, the Council unanimously approved a scheme to encourage student participation in tree-plantation drives. Under this initiative, students enrolled in the Civics and Community Engagement course will receive 2 additional sessional marks upon planting a tree within the university premises and ensuring its regular care. Additionally, the Council resolved to streamline academic and administrative resources by merging underperforming and inactive departments across the university.
