LAHORE (Special Reporter): Punjab University employees who met with an accident near Damghala while returning to Lahore from Naran have safely returned home, after the university administration dispatched a bus to the site to transport them back.
The bus was carrying 19 employees when it fell into a deep ravine, leaving 16 people with both severe and minor injuries.
According to local Rescue 1122, four ambulances and medical teams were immediately dispatched upon receiving the report. Rescuers promptly extracted all the injured from the gorge, provided first aid on site, and shifted them to Tehsil Headquarter Hospital, Balakot. Owing to their condition, the injured were later transferred to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital, Mansehra for advanced medical care.
Upon receiving news of the incident, the PU administration sent a university bus to transport all employees back home safely. The passengers on board included Nadeem Suleman, Syed Waqar Ali, Junaid, Muhammad Irfan, Furqan, Younus, Shakeel Ahmad, Muhammad Arshad, Muhammad Riaz, Shaukat, Adnan, Hafiz Rasheed, Abdul Jabbar, Nazeer Rasheed, Tanveer Hussain, Muhammad Anwar, Muhammad Siddique, Noman Ali, Muhammad Ishaq, Nadeem, and Fayyaz.
The employees and their families expressed their gratitude to Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah for taking prompt measures.
Meanwhile, the accident-hit Rapid Bus has also been retrieved and brought back to the university via GT Road. University management received the affected employees upon their arrival, inquired after their well-being, and assured them of full support.
