ISLAMABAD (Education Reporter): The Federal Constitutional Court has sought a detailed report from the Education Department regarding the employment case involving fake educational credentials in Punjab. The court has issued notices to the accused teacher, Ansar Abbas, who secured employment on the basis of fake degrees, and Ayub Buzdar, former Assistant Advocate General of Punjab, who allegedly withdrew the case against the accused in the Lahore High Court without government approval. During the hearing, Acting Chief Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi inquired why the credentials of the accused, Ansar Abbas, were not verified during the four years he worked as a teacher in the Punjab Education Department. He further asked whether the Punjab government had taken any disciplinary action against former Assistant Advocate General Ayub Buzdar for allegedly withdrawing the appeal without permission. The Additional Advocate General of Punjab submitted a report stating that Ansar Abbas initially secured a job using an engineering degree and later, after four years, resigned to submit a new application. When forgery was proven upon verification, the department rejected his new application and terminated him. However, the accused approached the Lahore High Court and obtained a reinstatement order, against which the provincial government filed an intra-court appeal. The appeal was subsequently withdrawn from the High Court by former Assistant Advocate General Ayub Buzdar without the authorization of the relevant authorities.
