Demands Immediate Release of Fact-Finding Reports on 9 Public Universities

PESHAWAR (Special Reporter): Awami National Party (ANP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial General Secretary Hussain Shah Yousafzai has expressed deep concern over alleged merit violations in state universities and extraordinary delays in probe reports, demanding the government immediately bring all facts before the public.

In an official statement, Hussain Shah Yousafzai alleged that corruption, nepotism, and favoritism have flourished in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while merit is routinely bypassed in public sector jobs, postings, and transfers. He added that government representatives themselves admit to the involvement of individuals from lower to top tiers in these irregularities.

The ANP leader highlighted that fact-finding committees were constituted on February 22, 2026, to investigate alleged recruitment irregularities in nine public universities—including the University of Haripur. Although instructed to submit findings within 10 days, more than five months have passed without releasing the complete reports or detailing actions against those responsible.

He noted that even a brief notification issued on July 16 failed to address core concerns: why high-merit candidates were rejected, the criteria used to select candidates with lower merit, and the outcome of allegations regarding the alteration of interview scores.

Yousafzai demanded the immediate public release of full fact-finding reports for all nine universities, a transparent investigation into all merit-based allegations, strict action against those found guilty of irregularities, and justice for affected candidates. He reaffirmed that the ANP will not compromise on the rights of the youth and urged the government to ensure swift, transparent, and impartial action without further delay.
